Dr. Lani Roy
Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist (PAT) Supervisor
Dr. Lani Roy is a registered psychologist, social worker, and therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and communities in the areas of trauma, mental health, disability, and suicide prevention. She is the founder of The Signs of Life Psychology, and currently works as an Associate Research Fellow at Swinburne University. She is also a founding board member of the Australian Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Practitioners (AMAPP).
Lani’s clinical practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centred approach. She works alongside people navigating complex trauma, dissociation, disability, and dual diagnoses, and has a long-standing commitment to supporting survivors of abuse, as well as the Deaf community through therapy in Auslan. She draws on a range of evidence-based approaches including somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and transpersonal psychology.
Her work in psychedelic-assisted therapy focuses on preparation, integration, and harm reduction—particularly in relation to Ayahuasca and dieta traditions. Lani has developed the EMPATHS model of Integrative Somatic Assisted Psychotherapy, which bridges neuroscience, embodiment, and relational care.
