Pathways
Three pathways to accreditation.
Accreditation maps to the role you hold in a psychedelic-assisted therapy team. Each pathway carries its own badge and its own entry requirements, and every pathway shares a common core: at least 100 hours of theory, supervised clinical experience, experiential learning, personal development work, and a demonstrated commitment to ethical practice.

What this credential is: AMAPP accreditation is a voluntary professional credential. It is not a licence to practise, it does not replace registration with your professional body, and it does not by itself qualify you to work under the TGA Authorised Prescriber scheme. Membership and accreditation are different things, and only accredited practitioners appear in the public practitioner directory.
Policy update in progress: credential policy updates are coming soon, following new TGA frameworks. The requirements on this page reflect AMAPP's current Accreditation and Supervision Guidelines. Accreditation applications are on hold until that review is complete. Both are under review, and this page will be updated once the revised policies are approved.
Why the roles matter together: Under the TGA Authorised Prescriber scheme, every MDMA or psilocybine therapy team must include at least one practitioner registered as a clinical psychologist, a medical practitioner with general registration, a nurse with mental health experience, or an occupational therapist, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy must sit within that practitioner's scope of practice. The Authorised Prescriber psychiatrist approves the competence of every team member. AMAPP's Therapist and Facilitator credentials describe therapeutic role and competence, and sit alongside those TGA team positions rather than replacing them. A team cannot be formed from two Facilitators without an appropriately qualified Therapist.
