The people behind AMAPP.

AMAPP is steered by a small board of practitioners and supported by a staff team that keeps the organisation moving. Between them sit psychology, social work, psychotherapy and research, all pointed at the same goal: safe, evidence-informed psychedelic practice in Australia.

Dr Alana (Lani) Roy

Chair

Psychologist, social worker and advocate based in Melbourne, with experience spanning mental health, suicide prevention, trauma and the disability sector. Lani provides psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy for clients accessing ketamine treatment in Australia, researches Australian community Ayahuasca use, and offers therapy in Auslan for the Deaf community. She developed the EMAPTHS Integrative Psychedelic Somatic (EIPSP) approach and coordinates the psychedelic and plant medicine Mental Health Professional Network.

Ludo Kourouvanis

Board Member

A social worker with more than 18 years at the intersection of trauma, mental health and human rights, Ludo has worked alongside survivors of sexual assault, family violence and systemic injustice. Trained in EMDR, transpersonal art therapy, breathwork and narrative therapy, Ludo practises trauma-informed care grounded in social justice and cultural humility, with a particular focus on consent, integration and the protection of vulnerable people in psychedelic work.

Lana Sciberras

Board Member

Clinical Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor with more than 20 years across private practice and psychiatry, trained in Gestalt Therapy, Process-oriented Psychology, and mindfulness and compassion therapies. Lana specialises in addiction and consulted to a private residential rehabilitation service for 15 years. Trained in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy by MAPS, she worked as a therapist on an MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy trial for severe PTSD and has provided clinical supervision for over a decade.

Lauren Lacey

National Branch Coordinator

Psychotherapist, naturopath and nutritionist (MCouns&PsychTh, MMktg, BHlthSc(Nutr&Diet), BPsychSc). Alongside her role coordinating AMAPP's branches, Lauren serves as International Volunteer Manager for Involvement Volunteers International, with a focus on holistic wellbeing and global community impact.

Jean-Luc Alder

Clinical Psychology Researcher

Jean-Luc is a Provisional Psychologist and Master of Psychology (Clinical) candidate at ISN Psychology, currently completing the Certificate of Psychedelic and Contemplative Therapies through the Anam Cara Centre. At AMAPP he runs communications and the national events program end to end, led the redesign of the association's website and its membership and credentialling pathway, and reviews the psychedelic research literature weekly to turn new findings into education for clinicians and the public. His clinical placements span youth mental health at headspace Frankston and complex adult presentations in community mental health. He also coaches with the McGuire Programme, a program which assists individuals overcome their stutter and become effective communicators.
