Lana is a Clinical Psychotherapist and clinical supervisor trained in Gestalt Therapy and Process-oriented Psychology (Somatic Processwork), Mindfulness and Compassion therapies and groupwork. She maintains a private practice in Melbourne and has worked in psychiatry facilitating inpatient and outpatient groups. Her specialisation includes addiction work following 15 years consulting to a residential rehab facility.

She serves as a psychedelic psychotherapist on clinical trials at Australian universities and is a member of Monash University's Clinical Psychedelic Lab team. Dr Lani Roy is a registered psychologist, social worker, and therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and communities in the areas of trauma, mental health, disability, and suicide prevention. She is the founder of The Signs of Life Psychology, and currently works as an Associate Research Fellow at Swinburne University. She is also a founding board member of the Australian Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Practitioners (AMAPP).

Lani's clinical practice is grounded in a trauma-informed, person-centred approach. She works alongside people navigating complex trauma, dissociation, disability, and dual diagnoses, and has a long-standing commitment to supporting survivors of abuse, as well as the Deaf community through therapy in Auslan. She draws on evidence-based approaches including somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and transpersonal psychology.

Her work in psychedelic-assisted therapy focuses on preparation, integration, and harm reduction, particularly in relation to Ayahuasca and dieta traditions. Lani has developed the EMPATHS model of Integrative Somatic Assisted Psychotherapy, which bridges neuroscience, embodiment, and relational care.

Tobias Penno is an academic and lecturer in Social Work at the University of Western Australia (UWA). His first academic publication titled "How Ayahuasca Offers Psychosocial Wellbeing" won the social work research prize in the school of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Science at UWA in 2017. Tobias co-founded the Australian Psychedelic Society WA Chapter with Dr Stephen Bright, and co-ordinates the Mental Health Professional Network's local Psychedelic Community of Practice. His primary research focus is on the therapeutic skillset required for psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy. What every listing signs up to

All AMAPP-accredited professionals comply with state and national laws and the legal frameworks governing psychedelic medicine in Australia. They adhere to the AMAPP Code of Conduct and relevant professional codes of ethics, and engage in ongoing professional development, supervision and reflective practice.

1 Qualifications and training +

Every listed practitioner holds recognised qualifications and professional certifications relevant to their field, whether that is psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy, social work or an equivalent discipline, and has completed accredited training or supervised practice in PAT.

2 Ethical and legal practice +

Practitioners commit to AMAPP's Code of Conduct, prioritising quality treatment, harm reduction, client safety and evidence-informed care. They agree not to engage in underground or unregulated psychedelic therapy practices.

3 Registration and notification +

Practitioners maintain current registration with their relevant professional body and promptly inform AMAPP of any changes to that registration, as well as any criminal charges, ethical complaints or allegations of professional misconduct.

4 Profile accuracy +

Each practitioner keeps their database profile up to date, including contact information, qualifications and areas of specialisation, and acknowledges that AMAPP may conduct routine audits to verify accuracy and professional integrity.

What accreditation does and does not mean

AMAPP accreditation confirms that a practitioner has met defined professional and ethical standards for psychedelic-assisted therapy. It does not confer legal authority to deliver psychedelic services outside of approved medical or research frameworks. Psychedelic medicines are regulated under Australian law, and AMAPP accepts no liability for services conducted beyond those lawful boundaries.

AMAPP does not supply, distribute or provide access to any psychedelic or psychoactive medicines to the general public. The organisation's work sits in education, research and professional development, within ethical and legal frameworks.
